Popularitas Friendster di Indonesia agaknya memang sudah semakin menurun. Terbukti, akses ke situs Facebook via ponsel akhirnya melampaui akses ke Friendster.

Padahal, selama ini Friendster masih menduduki posisi tertinggi situs yang paling banyak diakses melalui browser Opera Mini di Indonesia. Seperti dikutip detikINET dari pernyataan tertulis Opera yang diterima Kamis (25/6/2009), Friendster akhirnya tergusur dari posisi 1 di Indonesia.

Posisi Friendster terjatuh ke nomor 3 dan digusur oleh Facebook yang naik dari nomor 3 ke nomor 1. Sedangkan di posisi ke-2 Google masih tetap bertahan.

Di Asia Tenggara, pertumbuhan pengguna Opera Mini sangat besar terjadi di Vietnam (412,9%). Selanjutnya adalah Filipina (353,6%) dan Malaysia (249,6%). Namun secara umum, pengguna di Indonesia masih menempati posisi puncak di Asia Tenggara.
